Knowledge Management Portal for VECV Employees
The Challenge
Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles in the leading leading Truck, Bus, Tractor and Commercial Vehicle manufacturer in India. VECV has over 3000 employees spread across India in different Business Units and Locations.
VECV wanted Convergent Technologies to set up an Employee Self Service Intranet for connecting all its employees and create a single point hub where they can access information related to group, departments and also be able to do a range of self-service activities.
The Solution
Convergent Technologies set up the VECV Intranet called evolve which helps 3000+ employees of VECV to be on a common platform and share information/knowledge with each other. There are BU, Department and specific Team Sites, apart from Discussion Forums and Blogs. A range of Self-Service Applications helps Employees to do HR and Finance related interactions – like Pay Slips, Reimbursements, Leaves, Appraisal etc.
The Intranet has been set up using Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007, InfoPath, BizTalk 2005 and SQL Server 2008.
